How much time do you spend with the tap on the iPad or iPhone? I think, they spend much of their time to do just that—so here are 16 tips I’ve picked up along the way, which will show you how to in iOS.
If you want to, enter a different currency symbol, just press and hold the dollar, and you will see a number of alternatives that you can choose.
The secret key
Press and hold tip works on any character on your keyboard. You give it a try. In many cases, you will see that if you do this, you will provide a variety of useful characters that do not appear on the screen.
Everyone should know that if you tap twice on the Shift button, you automatically activate the caps lock.
Double-tap the spacebar to add silence. The next entered character is capitalized, and a space between, and the period in which they wrote. For this to work, you must activate the Auto-capitalization in settings>General>keyboard.
Do not forget that, if you tap and hold the period key a number of domain extensions available.
Easy to change
The easiest way to switch between numerical and alphabetical characters-pallets: tap and hold the 123 button and you will see the keyboard-swap-cross to the opposite set—slide your finger to the character you want to use, and let them go—it is entered, and the keyboard automatically returns to the default layout. In this way, you don’t have to manually switch between keyboard types.
You write right
If you hard press the keyboard area, when you write, you will see that it is a touch-sensitive cursor. You use it like a mouse. There is also a small function—press the cursor-it’s hard on a word to select it, hard to get a sentence twice to select it, or hard on a paragraph three times, if you want to select, instead. On an iPad, you only need to tap and hold with two fingers.
Replace Text links
It is a shame that more iOS users do not replace the use of Text links. I imagine it’s because you need to spend time to set, and you must also remember, if you have them, but they can be useful for complex technical words, E-Mail addresses, telephone numbers and the like.
Create a Text-substitute, open: settings>General>keyboards>Text replacement
You will see a list with all the keyboard shortcuts you already use. Tap On + (Plus)
You will be prompted to enter the phrase/word and type the shortcut that you want to use.

iOS 11 tip: you will be able to use a one-handed keyboard in iOS-11—simply press and hold the Emoji button, and select it.
You will see that the small microphone button to the left of the spacebar? Tap this and you can dictate your message using Siri.
If you use an iPad Pro with a Smart Keyboard, you can underline key combinations such as command-N (new document), command + F (find text) or ” command-B, -I and –U (bold, italics). You also get an Undo and Redo button, which you can find in the Predictive Art bar. Command-H) will take you back to the Home screen.
Shake to Undo
iPhone users want to delete something, wrote you? Just shake your device until the Undo dialog appears. Easy.
Add a photo or video
In apps that support this (e.g. E-Mail), you can manually add the elements of your message. Just double-tap where the item want to be located, and then choose Insert photo or Video in the grey menu bar. Now you can select the item, paste in your image browser.
You type in multiple languages?
You can life a little easier by adding dictionaries for each of the languages you are using.
Go to settings>General>keyboard>keyboards and tap Add New keyboard. Now you can use the local language keyboards for each language and will see quicktype will suggest words and spelling in the language you want to use.
Stop the automatic word recognition
To get if the word suggestions are always in the way, the fastest way to tap off and hold the keyboard icon (the world globe), keyboard settings, where you can invert, Predictive. Turn it on again the next time, when you need them.
